Music
Art and Music Italia’s Music Program welcomes students of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Lessons are customized to each student’s needs and goals. In addition to individual instruction, students will be placed in appropriate ensembles commensurate to their abilities.
lessons
Daily group lessons will address topics such as instrumental technique (tone, articulation, intonation, expression, etc.), practice habits, and other related topics. Advanced students will receive instruction on music theory, improvisation,and composition, covering such topics as chord/scale relationships and aural skills. ** NEW ADDITION ** Introduction to DJ class.
ensembles
Ensembles will meet and practice together daily, with a view to performing in a concert to culminate the camp session. Opportunities for both solo and chamber music performances will be provided.
presentations
To augment the daily lessons, faculty members will give lectures and presentations on their various areas of expertise.
guest artists
Guest artists will give master classes on various topics such as performance, improvisation, composition, personal experience, and other topics. Lectures and demonstrations will be followed by Q&A sessions and will sometimes include audience participation.
jam sessions
“After-hour" jam sessions will provide fun, informal opportunities for collaboration and performance.
instruments
Instruments available range from Ukelele, Guitar and Percussion (available for everyone) to Piano, Bass, Winds (Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Sax, etc), Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass), Brass (French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, etc), Guitar Ensemble, and Rhythm.

Genres include: Classical, Jazz, Gospel, Pop, Rock, Music production, Broadway Musicals and Italian music appreciation, performance, culture, language, and history.
